KKR were 112/4 at the second strategic timeout (14.0 overs) after Rinku Singh fell cheaply for 4. The innings needed a late push.

Cameron Green (32* off 24) and Rovman Powell (39* off 24) delivered exactly that. Their unbroken fifth-wicket stand produced 70 runs off just 40 balls. Powell smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes, while Green hit 3 fours and a six. KKR reached 150 in 17.3 overs and finished on 181/4.

LSG Chase: 182/7 in 20 Overs (Won Off Last Ball)

LSG’s chase started fast but kept losing wickets. Aiden Markram (22 off 15) and Mitchell Marsh (15 off 11) both fell in the 5th over to Vaibhav Arora, leaving LSG at 42/2 after 4.3 overs.

Rishabh Pant managed just 10 off 9 before Cameron Green had him caught by Kartik Tyagi at 73/3. Nicholas Pooran (13 off 15) and Abdul Samad (2 off 4) couldn’t accelerate either.

Ayush Badoni, the impact sub who replaced Siddharth, was the one batter who found consistent timing. He smashed 54 off 34 balls (7 fours, 2 sixes), reaching his fifty off 33 deliveries. But when he fell at 125/6 in the 15th over, LSG still needed 57 off 33 balls with the tail exposed.

Then Sunil Narine struck. He bowled Mohammed Shami for 1 at 128/7 in the 16th over. LSG needed 54 off 26 balls with just 3 wickets in hand. Game over, right?

Not quite. Mukul Choudhary had other plans.

The 23-year-old walked in and started swinging. He brought up his fifty off just 26 balls (2 fours, 7 sixes). His eighth-wicket partnership with Avesh Khan (1* off 3) produced 54 runs in 23 balls. Seven sixes. In a chase. From number 8. That takes some nerve.

LSG reached 150 in 17.4 overs and needed 4 off the last ball. Choudhary found the boundary. 182/7 in exactly 20 overs. LSG won by 3 wickets with 0 balls remaining.

Key Highlights: KKR vs LSG IPL 2026 Match 15

  • Choudhary’s 7-six assault: 54* off 27 balls from number 8. He hit 7 sixes in a knock that will be replayed for years. Named POTM and Cricinfo MVP (84.33 points). This is the best lower-order innings of IPL 2026.
  • LSG won off the last ball: Needed 4 off the final delivery and got it. That makes this the second consecutive last-ball result at Eden Gardens after GT’s 1-run win over DC in Match 14.
  • Narine’s 4 overs for 13 runs went in vain: Narine was sensational with 1/13 at an economy of 3.25, including 14 dot balls. But the rest of KKR’s bowlers could not back him up. Navdeep Saini went for 37 in 3 overs without a wicket.
  • KKR’s third straight home loss: After defeats to MI (Match 2) and SRH (Match 6), KKR have now lost three consecutive games at Eden Gardens. The heat is firmly on Rahane and the KKR think tank.
  • Green-Powell stand gave KKR a strong finish: 70 runs off 40 balls for the unbroken fifth wicket. Powell’s 39* off 24 and Green’s 32* off 24 pushed KKR from 112/4 to 181/4. It looked like enough.
  • Badoni kept LSG alive: 54 off 34 (7 fours, 2 sixes) ensured LSG stayed in the hunt even as wickets fell around him. Without his knock, Choudhary wouldn’t have had anything to chase.
  • Impact subs: KKR brought in Vaibhav Arora for Finn Allen at 19.6 overs of their innings. Arora then took 2/38. LSG replaced Siddharth with Ayush Badoni at 4.3 overs of their chase. Badoni’s 54 off 34 justified the call.

Verdict: LSG Beat KKR in Last Over Thriller and Established Clear Dominance

Mukul Choudhary turned a lost cause into a famous win. At 128/7 needing 54 off 26, no analyst on the planet gave LSG a chance. Choudhary hit 7 sixes and got them home off the last ball.

KKR will be shattered. They did almost everything right but could not close out the game. Eden Gardens has become a fortress for visiting teams this IPL, and KKR desperately need to arrest the slide.
