Lucknow Super Giants’ highest score in the IPL is 257/5, set against Punjab Kings at Mohali in April 2023. Four batters crossed 40 that night, and the innings never slowed. 

From Brabourne in their debut season to Ahmedabad and Eden Gardens in 2025, LSG have produced their biggest totals across eight different grounds. 

Nicholas Pooran appears in 8 of these 10 innings, and 2025 alone contributed 4 entries to the list. Two of these totals still ended in defeat.

LSG’s highest IPL total was built on a chain of contributions rather than one single dominant knock. Four batters crossed 43 runs each, and the innings never really slowed from the first over to the last.

Kyle Mayers set the tone immediately. He scored 54 off 24 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes before falling in the sixth over. LSG had already reached 74/2 in the powerplay. Ayush Badoni kept the momentum alive, scoring 43 off 24 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Marcus Stoinis was the anchor in the middle. He came in at number four and finished with 72 off 40 balls, hitting 6 fours and 5 sixes. He was still batting in over 18.2 when the score read 239/4. Nicholas Pooran followed with 45 off 19 balls, striking 7 fours and one six. 

LSG closed at 257/5 at a run rate of 12.85. Punjab Kings were bowled out for 201 in 19.5 overs in reply. Stoinis was named Player of the Match for his batting and 1 for 21 with the ball.

Not a wicket fell in the power play. LSG reached 59/0 after six overs, with Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh building steadily before Markram fell in over 10.2 for 47 off 28 balls. Marsh stayed on and scored 81 off 48 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes, departing in over 15.2 with LSG at 170.

That brought Pooran to the crease with five overs left. He scored an unbeaten 87 off 36 balls, hitting 7 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 241.66. His fifty came off just 21 balls. 

KKR chased hard and finished at 234/7, falling 4 runs short. It is the narrowest winning margin among LSG’s victories on this list. Pooran was named Player of the Match.

3. 235/2 vs GT – May 22, 2025

Ahmedabad is the largest ground on this list, with straight boundaries reaching 75 to 80 metres. Scoring 235 here carries more weight than at most other IPL venues. Mitchell Marsh’s only IPL century made it possible.

Markram and Marsh put on 91 for the first wicket before Markram fell in over 9.5 for 36 off 24 balls. Marsh and Pooran then combined for a second-wicket stand of 121 runs in 42 balls. Pooran scored 56* off 27 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes, reaching his fifty off 23 balls.’ 

Marsh reached his century off 56 balls and finished on 117 off 64 with 10 fours and 8 sixes. Rishabh Pant closed things out with an unbeaten 16 off 6 balls. 

Gujarat Titans replied with 202/9 and fell 33 short. Marsh was named Player of the Match.

4. 227/3 vs RCB – May 27, 2025

This is one of two losses on the list. LSG scored 227/3 at their home ground in Lucknow, with Rishabh Pant batting through the full 20 overs. 

Mitchell Marsh scored 67 off 37 balls to set the platform, and the pair added 152 for the second wicket in 77 balls. Pant finished unbeaten on 118 off 61 balls, hitting 11 fours and 8 sixes. His century came off 54 balls.

A target of 228 at Ekana proved insufficient. RCB chased it in 18.4 overs, winning with 6 wickets to spare. Jitesh Sharma’s unbeaten 85 off 33 balls ended the game well inside the final two overs. Even with their joint-third highest total on the board, LSG could not defend it.

5. 214/6 vs MI – May 17, 2024

Wankhede’s short square boundaries and fast outfield make it a bowler’s nightmare in the death overs. LSG made full use of that. They reached only 49/2 after the powerplay, losing both openers cheaply, but what followed was a different story entirely.

KL Rahul steadied the innings in the middle overs, working his way to 55 off 41 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Pooran entered and took over. He hit 75 off 29 balls with 5 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 258.62. His fifty came off 19 balls. 

Together, Rahul and Pooran added 109 for the fourth wicket. Both fell in the same over in over 17, leaving LSG at 178/6. Ayush Badoni (22* off 10) and Krunal Pandya (12* off 7) added 36 more to close at 214. 

Mumbai Indians replied with 196/6 and fell 18 short. Pooran was named Player of the Match.

6. 213/4 vs CSK – April 23, 2024

Chepauk plays by its own rules. The pitch slows as the innings progress, spinners get help from the middle overs, and the ground historically favours teams batting first. 

CSK posted 210/4, with Ruturaj Gaikwad hitting 108* off 60 balls and Shivam Dube blasting 66 off 27 balls. LSG lost two wickets inside the powerplay and were 45/2 when Stoinis arrived.

What followed was one of the most controlled chase innings in LSG’s history. Stoinis finished on 124* off 63 balls, hitting 13 fours and 6 sixes. He reached his fifty off 26 balls and his century off 56. 

Nicholas Pooran contributed 34 off 15 balls late on to push the total to 213/4 in 19.3 overs. LSG won with 3 balls to spare. Stoinis was named Player of the Match.

7. 213/9 vs RCB – April 10, 2023

Chinnaswamy gave RCB every advantage. Short boundaries, good batting conditions, and a crowd in full voice. Virat Kohli scored 61, Faf du Plessis made 79*, and Glenn Maxwell hit 59 off 29 balls as RCB posted 212/2. LSG chased 213 and were immediately in trouble at 37/3 inside the powerplay.

Marcus Stoinis did the first part of the rescue work. He scored 65 off 30 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes, pulling LSG back into the chase from a very difficult position. 

Pooran then entered and changed the tempo entirely. He hit 62 off just 19 balls, with 4 fours and 7 sixes, at a strike rate of 326.31. His fifty came off 15 balls. The Stoinis and Pooran partnership swung the match in LSG’s favour, but Pooran fell in over 16.6 with the job not yet done.

Ayush Badoni added 30 off 24 to keep LSG within range. They lost their ninth wicket in the penultimate over. 

Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan scored the winning run off the final ball of the match. Pooran was named Player of the Match.

8. 211/4 vs CSK – March 31, 2022

This was only LSG’s second ever IPL match. A new franchise, playing at Brabourne in March 2022, chasing down 211 with calm efficiency. CSK had posted 210/7, and the way LSG went about their reply said a lot about how they were already set up.

KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock opened and put on 99 for the first wicket. Rahul fell in over 10.2 for 40 off 26 balls. De Kock was the third wicket to fall, dismissed in over 14.4 for 61 off 45 balls, leaving LSG at 139/3 with the target still some way off. 

Evin Lewis then took over quickly. He finished on 55* off 23 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes, with Ayush Badoni unbeaten on 19* off 9 alongside. LSG reached 211 with 3 balls remaining. Lewis was named Player of the Match.

9. 210/0 vs KKR – May 18, 2022

The only total on this list with no wickets lost. Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul batted all 20 overs together, unbroken, adding 210 for the opening wicket. No other innings in this list come close to that level of control.

De Kock was the dominant partner. He finished on 140* off 70 balls with 10 fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 200.00, reaching his fifty off 36 balls and his century off 59. 

Rahul was quieter but steady, finishing on 68* off 51 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. 

KKR chased 211 and finished at 208/8. Rinku Singh hit 40 off 15 balls late in the innings and made it tense, but KKR fell 2 runs short. De Kock was named Player of the Match.

10. 209/8 vs DC – March 24, 2025

The second loss on this list, and the most frustrating one. Mitchell Marsh scored 72 off 36 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes, reaching his fifty off 21 balls. Nicholas Pooran added 75 off 30 balls, striking 6 fours and 7 sixes, reaching his fifty off 24 balls. 

The two added 87 for the second wicket and had LSG positioned well at 133/1 in over 11.4.

What followed undid all that foundation. LSG lost 7 wickets for 76 runs in the final eight overs. Mitchell Starc took 3 for 42, and Kuldeep Yadav conceded only 20 in his 4 overs.

LSG ended at 209/8. Delhi chased 210 in 19.3 overs, winning by 1 wicket on Ashutosh Sharma’s unbeaten 66 off 31 balls.
