1. 287/3 vs RCB – Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, 15 April 2024
The shortest boundaries in the IPL. The most aggressive batting unit in the tournament. Something had to give.
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma put on 108 for the first wicket, with Head reaching fifty off just 20 balls before finishing with 102 off 41. Klaasen then hit 67 off 31 balls, and Abdul Samad destroyed the final overs with 37 off just 10 at a strike rate of 370.
No RCB bowler went under an economy of 10, with Topley conceding 68 in 4 overs and Vyshak leaking 64 in 4.
In reply, Kohli hit 42, and du Plessis made 62 to keep RCB alive at 121 for 4 after 9.3 overs. But five wickets fell in five overs, and the chase collapsed. Karthik’s late 83 off 35 gave the total some respectability, but RCB ended on 262, losing by 25 runs.
2. 286/6 vs RR – Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, 23 March 2025
Ishan Kishan had something to prove. New franchise, big price tag, and a crowd waiting to see if he belonged. He answered with 106 not out off 47 balls, carrying SRH to 286 after Head had already set the platform with 67 off 31. Nitish Kumar Reddy added 30 off 15, and Klaasen smashed 34 off 14 in the death, while Jofra Archer was taken apart for 76 in 4 overs at an economy of 19.
In reply, Sanju Samson hit 66, and Dhruv Jurel made 70, keeping RR alive until the 14th over. But the asking rate was always too steep, and RR finished on 242, losing by 44 runs.
3. 278/3 vs KKR – Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, 25 May 2025
A hundred in 37 balls. That is where this story begins and ends. Head gave SRH the foundation with 76 off 40, but when Klaasen walked in at 175 in the 12.4th over, the match was already over in one sense. He finished unbeaten on 105 off 39, reaching fifty in 17 balls and his century in 37.
Varun Chakravarthy conceded 54 in 3 overs, and Nortje went for 60 in 4 as KKR had no answers in the death. In reply, KKR were bundled out for 168 in 18.4 overs, with Manish Pandey top-scoring on 37.
No KKR batter built a meaningful partnership after the top order collapsed inside the powerplay, and SRH won by 110 runs.
4. 277/3 vs MI – Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, 27 March 2024
Two batters. Eight overs. 125 runs combined. Head hit 62 off 24 balls, and Abhishek Sharma smashed 63 off 23 before both fell within three overs of each other.
Most teams lose momentum after that. SRH did not. Klaasen and Markram combined for an unbroken 116-run stand, with Klaasen finishing 80 not out off 34 and Markram on 42 not out.
Kwena Maphaka was the most expensive bowler for MI, conceding 66 in 4 overs, while Bumrah alone showed control with 36 in 4. In reply, Tilak Varma made 64, and Tim David hit 42 not out, but MI were always behind the rate and ended on 246, losing by 31 runs.
5. 266/7 vs DC – Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, 20 April 2024
125 runs in 6 overs. Zero wickets. Delhi Capitals had no idea what was coming. Head hit 89 off 32, and Abhishek made 46 off just 12 balls, both falling in quick succession to trigger a middle-order wobble.
SRH slipped to 154 for 4 inside 9 overs. But Shahbaz Ahmed rescued the innings with a composed 59 not out off 29 to push SRH beyond 260. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets but still conceded 55 in 4 overs, while Lalit Yadav leaked 41 in just 2. In reply, Jake Fraser-McGurk blazed 65 off 18 balls, and Abishek Porel made 42, giving DC early hope. The chase fell apart after the 9th over, and DC were bowled out for 199, losing by 67 runs.
6. 247/2 vs Punjab Kings – Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, 12 April 2025
Punjab Kings posted 245 in 20 overs. It was not enough. Not even close.
Abhishek Sharma walked in and hit 141 off 55 balls, fourteen fours and ten sixes, making the chase look routine from the third over onwards. He and Head did not lose a wicket until the 12.2nd over, by which point 171 runs were on the board.
Head made 66 off 37 before Chahal had him caught, finishing with 1 wicket but going for 56 in 4 overs. Marco Jansen conceded 39 in just 2. Abhishek fell at 222 in the 16.2nd over, but Klaasen knocked off the remaining runs without fuss. SRH won by 8 wickets with 9 balls remaining.
7. 231/6 vs RCB – Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, 23 May 2025
54 for 2 in 4.2 overs. Not a great start. Head was gone for 17, and Abhishek fell for 34 inside the powerplay. Most totals begin to look ordinary from that position.
Ishan Kishan had other ideas. He batted through the chaos and finished unbeaten on 94 off 48 balls, holding the innings together while Aniket Verma smashed 26 off 9 in the death and Cummins hit 13 off 6 to push SRH past 230.
Lungi Ngidi was the most expensive for RCB with 51 in 4 overs. In reply, Phil Salt hit 62 off 32, and Kohli made 43 off 25, but RCB lost wickets in clusters from the 11th over onwards and were bowled out for 189, losing by 42 runs.
8. 231/2 vs RCB – Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, 31 March 2019
Before Head. Before Abhishek. Before any of it. This is where the blueprint for fearless SRH batting quietly began.
Jonny Bairstow and David Warner opened together and put on 185 for the first wicket at Hyderabad. Bairstow hit 114 off 56 balls before being caught off Chahal at 185 in the 16.2nd over. Warner finished unbeaten on 100 off 55.
Prayas Ray Barman conceded 56 in 4 overs for RCB, and Umesh Yadav went for 47 in 4. In reply, RCB were skittled for just 113, with Mohammad Nabi taking 4 wickets at an economy of 2.75. SRH won by 118 runs, the largest margin of victory on this top-10 list.
9. 228/4 vs KKR – Eden Gardens, Kolkata, 14 April 2023
Two wickets down inside 5 overs at Eden Gardens. Not ideal. But Harry Brook had not read that script. He came in early and simply did not stop, finishing with an unbeaten 100 off 55 balls while wickets kept falling around him.
Markram provided a brisk 50 off 26 before Russell had him caught, and Abhishek Sharma added 32 off 17 late on to push the total to 228.
Lockie Ferguson conceded 37 in 2 overs for KKR, and Umesh Yadav went for 42 in 3. In reply, Nitish Rana hit 75, and Rinku Singh made 58 not out, giving KKR a genuine chance deep into the chase. They fell short by 23 runs on 205.
10. 219/2 vs DC – Dubai International Cricket Stadium, 27 October 2020
UAE pitches. Bigger boundaries. Slower surfaces. A score of 219 here carried more weight than almost any total posted in India that season.
David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha put on 107 for the first wicket before Warner was caught off Ashwin for 66 off 34 balls. Saha continued to 87 off 45 balls with twelve fours, before Manish Pandey steadied the finish with 44 not out off 31.
Kagiso Rabada, one of the best T20 bowlers in the world at that point, went for 54 in 4 overs without a wicket.
In reply, Rishabh Pant made 36 and Ajinkya Rahane hit 26, but Rashid Khan strangled the chase with 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs. DC were bowled out for 131, losing by 88 runs.
