Most Successful IPL Captains

Two captains stand above the rest in IPL history. Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni have each led their teams to five IPL titles.

Rohit won all five trophies with Mumbai Indians in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. MS Dhoni lifted the cup five times with Chennai Super Kings in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023.

Gautam Gambhir comes third with two titles for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014. His aggressive leadership style helped KKR become a winning team. KKR won another title in 2024 under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer.

Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar joins an elite tier of captains by successfully guiding RCB to consecutive title victories in 2025 and 2026.
